Wooden flooring has a comfortable touch and a delicate texture, making it a popular floor decoration material. According to the type of wood and processing method, wood flooring can be divided into three types: solid wood flooring, reinforced composite flooring, and solid wood composite flooring. Many people may feel a headache distinguishing between solid wood composite flooring and reinforced composite flooring. In fact, distinguishing between solid wood composite flooring and reinforced composite flooring is not difficult at all. Let's take a look at the differences between solid wood composite flooring and reinforced composite flooring.

1. Material

From the perspective of materials, reinforced composite flooring is made by crushing logs and pressing them with filling glue and other raw materials using a hot press machine at high temperature. It is composed of four types of base materials: wear-resistant layer, decorative layer, high-density base layer, and balanced (moisture-proof) layer. Solid wood composite flooring is made of wood boards made of different tree species that are interlaced and laminated, and essentially still belongs to wood.

2. Wear resistance

Due to the presence of a wear-resistant layer on the surface of reinforced composite flooring, the wear-resistant layer has excellent wear resistance. Even with a key and screwdriver, there will be no scratches left. Excellent wear resistance makes reinforced composite flooring easier to maintain. Solid wood composite flooring cannot compete with reinforced composite flooring in terms of wear resistance, as the surface is made of natural wood veneer.

3. Environmental performance

From an environmental perspective, solid wood composite flooring is more environmentally friendly than reinforced composite flooring. Solid wood composite flooring uses natural wood to preserve the natural wood grain and natural atmosphere of the wood, and natural wood itself is relatively environmentally friendly. The substrate of reinforced composite flooring is high-density board, which uses more adhesive than solid wood composite flooring. Therefore, reinforced composite flooring is relatively less environmentally friendly than solid wood composite flooring. But whether it is solid wood composite flooring or reinforced flooring, as long as it meets national standards, there is no need to worry, and formaldehyde emissions have been controlled within the range of human safety.

4. Comfort

Due to the lack of solid wood components in reinforced composite flooring, it lacks the comfortable touch and exquisite texture of natural wood. Therefore, from a comfort perspective, reinforced composite flooring is not as comfortable as solid wood composite flooring.

The above is an introduction to the differences between solid wood composite and reinforced composite. Through the above content, we have found that both solid wood composite flooring and reinforced composite flooring have their own advantages and disadvantages. As for how to choose between the two in the actual decoration process, we can choose suitable decoration materials according to our own needs. I hope this article about solid wood composite flooring and reinforced composite flooring can be helpful to you!
