1. Floor nails
Floor nails are a commonly used flooring installation accessory, which serves to fix the wooden floor and prevent it from loosening in the later stage. There are two kinds of floor nails, Meigu nail and Fried Dough Twists nail.
(1) In principle, Meigu nails belong to the screw category. In use, they are substitutes for 1.5 inch, 2 inch and 2.5 inch ordinary Fried Dough Twists floor nails. They have the characteristics of more convenient installation and better anti loosening effect, and can effectively solve the problem of sound when stepping on the floor.
(2) Fried Dough Twists nails are traditional products of decorative fasteners, which are more widely used. Before the advent of percussive expansion nails and anti loose floor nails, Fried Dough Twists nails were the main fasteners for installing wooden keel and floor. It is also widely used for the installation and fixation of outdoor wooden structures and wooden furniture.
2. Floor keel
Floor keel is commonly used in the installation of solid wood flooring, which plays a role in increasing the foot feel of solid wood flooring, enhancing moisture resistance, and leveling together. The floor keel can be divided into wooden keel, plastic steel keel, aluminum alloy keel, etc. in terms of material, of course, most of them use wooden keel. Taking wooden keel as an example, the selection of floor keel must have a moisture content that meets the standard to avoid affecting the wooden floor due to excessive moisture in the keel. It must also be dried to prevent insect eggs from forming on the wooden floor.
3. Floor buckle
Due to the need for a complete accessory system for the installation of wooden flooring, the buckle, as one of the important accessories, is mainly used to solve interface problems such as fixing, closing, connecting, transitioning, and sticking the floor. On the one hand, it leaves sufficient expansion and contraction space for the floor's thermal expansion and contraction, and on the other hand, it protects the edges of the floor from wear and tear, playing a role in connection, protection, and decoration.
4. Skirting line
During the installation and laying process of wooden flooring, some things are needed to cover the connection between the wall and the wooden flooring, beautifying the overall effect. This is the main function of the skirting line, which also has the function of pressing down on the wooden flooring. The types of skirting lines on the market include solid wood, plastic, glass, and all steel.
5. Floor moisture-proof film
Moisture proof film is a type of floor auxiliary material laid between the base layer of the ground and the wooden floor. Its main function is to isolate water vapor and prevent the wooden floor from getting damp. During laying, each moisture-proof film should overlap with adjacent moisture-proof films by 5cm, and an additional 10cm should be added at the corners of the wall.
6. Floor glue
More precisely, it should be called wooden floor adhesive, which is a type of adhesive specifically used for paving wooden floors. Its function is to firmly fix the floor on a cement base, increasing the elastic feel of the floor. More importantly, it can also have the effects of being silent, waterproof, moisture-proof, and insect resistant.
7. Floor mat
A floor mat is a product that can effectively scrape away mud, dust, and moisture at the entrance, keeping the indoor floor clean. Elastic and soft, providing a comfortable foot feel. UV resistant additives prevent fading and embrittlement, and can withstand outdoor environments exposed to sunlight and rain. The quality of the floor mat material and whether it meets the needs of use are the primary concerns that everyone should be concerned about. As for the decor, there is no fixed rule, as long as it matches the overall decoration style of the home. However, it should be noted that it is advisable to avoid purchasing monochrome floor mats as this can cause dirt to stand out on the mats and affect their appearance. As for the size of the floor mat, it depends on actual needs.
2、 Precautions for using wood flooring accessories:
1. Kickboard:
This is one of the hidden environmental "killers" when installing wooden flooring, because low-quality wooden kickboards are also glued, veneered, or painted with formaldehyde based adhesives during the production process, and the surface of the kickboard is uneven, unable to achieve the same density as the surface of wooden flooring. If used for a long time, free formaldehyde in the substrate is easily released without restraint, causing pollution to the indoor air environment.
2. Floor glue:
It is generally believed that only wooden flooring itself releases formaldehyde, but in the actual installation process, a large amount of floor adhesive is used. The function of floor adhesive is to form a film at the connection of floor panels, effectively locking in free formaldehyde in the floor. The price of Zhiyou floor adhesive is expensive, and many small workshop style merchants often choose cheap ordinary adhesive, or even lower quality adhesive. Under the guise of "brand specific" and "full package price", it naturally enters consumer households, bringing environmental hazards.
3. Floor mat:
During the installation process of reinforced wood flooring, floor mats will be laid between the ground and the floor. In this small and forgotten space, it is easy to breed various bacteria, often becoming a blind spot in home environmental protection. Therefore, choosing floor mats with anti-corrosion functions is an important part of ensuring comprehensive environmental protection of the floor.
